MiM 8: Liverpool vs Blackburn Rovers

Match in Mind 8, by Shadiq A-H. Free of Charge.
Liverpool 3-1 Blackburn Rovers
English Premier League
13/4/08
12.30pm
Anfield, Liverpool
.
Intro: A MiM now is quite extra on the class blog I think, since everyone is talking about our fundraising stall thing, and with gd reason, since we did it well. But, it's the weekend, which means I watched some Soccer, which means.. MiM? Honestly, e Manutd vs Arsenal match that's coming up soon would be better to MiM on, but I don't think I'll stay awake for that one (it's 10.30pm now and e L'pool match just ended) so I'll MiM this one, since I watched it, and watched it with e intention of doing a MiM on it.
Tactics: Both teams started with their usual formations. L'pool with a 4-4-2 with Steven Gerrard just behind Fernando Torres, B'burn with a 4-4-2 with Morten Gamst Pedersen joining e strikers when possible. Nothing much to say here really.
My Man of the Match: Steven Gerrard (Liverpool). Gerrard was playing in his 300th EPL match. Was abit quiet in e 1st half. But i think Rafa Benitez probably instructed L'pool to get e ball onto Gerrard more often and that's what happened in e 2nd half. and how good a change it was. Gerrard scored e 1st goal and set up e 2nd goal. Had 3 penalty appeals turned down, but I don't think they were supposed to be penalties anyway. Was superb in e 2nd half, superb enough to make me choose him as man of e match, marking his 300th EPL match with a great performance.
“What the..?”: Those 3 penalty appeals. I mean, since when did Gerrard fall down and appeal for penalties? Haha he did in this 3 moments. But they would hv been even more "what the?" if Gerrard dived, which he didn't do. U may call me biased, but I don't think Gerrard will ever dive for a penalty.. unlike our friend from e 5.12 mousehole C Ronaldo!
Commentator’s memorable quotes: Didn't catch e commentator's name. And i wasn't really paying attention to what kind of stuff he was saying.. i think i was already thinking about e 3 matches i've got this week. So i dont know what kind of stuff he said. But i did catch a few quotes. "Liverpool, for many positive and some negative reasons, are a club like no other.", "Not many would want to mark B'burn's Christopher Samba when he goes storming into the area during corners as he often does.", "Or was it Fabio Capello, who maybe had a word with Mark Hughes, to play David Bentley in e middle?" - Commentator.
Implications/Expectations: 4 matches left and L'pool are 5 points ahead of Everton in e race for 4th place. I think L'pool should now safely get tt 4th place, but of course nothing's for sure in this funny sport. But yes, i think 4th place is L'pool's. And Torres, with his goal today, got his 30th goal this season, in his first season in e EPL. and i get e feeling next season's going to be better, now tt he's used to e EPL already.. he's tt kind of striker who can make u drool, isn't he?
So, i'll see u all in sch tmr, classmates. i've got 4 days for 3 matches, longing for 3 wins in 3 matches, needing energy for 3 matches, 3, damn it, L'pool 3 B'burn 1.
