Intro: I dont really need to explain why I wanted to watch this match, right? Merseyside derby! 2nd biggest fixture in Liverpool's calendar every year, behind e match against Man Utd, but I'm not too sure.. this could be e biggest. And there was another reason I wanted to watch this, as these are the 2 teams that are going for 4th place in the EPL. 4th place means a Champions League appearance and lots of TV money. So, a win for Liverpool would have brought them 5 points in front of Everton in 4th place.

Tactics: Both teams had their usual formations. Liverpool have started using this 4-4-2 with Steven Gerrard just behind Fernando Torres regulary recently, and it really looks like it's working. Everton used their usual 4-4-1-1 with Aiyegbeni Yakubu as e lone striker. No surprises in the lineups too, as Lucas Leiva started with Xabi Alonso in Liverpool's centre midfield. Everton had a real lack of strikers, as they even had no strikers or striker-like players in their substitutes, and an injury to Yakubu could have killed them.

My Man of the Match: Dirk Kuyt (Liverpool). He played at right midfield, which has also become regular for Liverpool recently. And as usual, he ran and ran, fighting for every ball, never slowing down. I really respect this guy for this.. he never considers a ball a lost cause. Gave a little extra to Liverpool's attack today. And he was alert to take advantage of Everton's slowness in clearing a corner kick, and so stole e ball and put it nicely in front of Fernando Torres, who, in e form he's in, was surely going to score that one (and he did, btw. that was e only goal, in e 7th min). Kuyt was subbed out in e last few mins for Jermaine Pennant.

“What the..?”: Only one incident haha. And it wasn't something that happened on e field. It was when, in e 75th min or so, Torres was stopped for offside, but e ball had been kicked into e stands. What e Liverpool fans in e stands should/would normally have done was return e ball quickly to e field. However, as e ball made its way down e stands, one joker (teenage boy in e 1st row) threw e ball to a ball boy standing at e corner flag, instead of Everton's Tim Howard who was waiting for it. And when e ball boy rolled e ball by e side (at Anfield, e stands are only like 3m from e field) and e ball went beside e advertisement boards (which are right in front of e stands), tt joker picked e ball up, and again threw it towards e ball boy. Not funny. I know u're a Liverpool fan (well, so am i, u know?) and ur team is against Everton, but u're jus wasting time and not helping ur team at all. u should have thought of that before doing wat u did, teenage boy in e 1st row.

Commentator’s memorable quotes: Alan Perry was commentating. There were very very very few comments about e Merseyside significance of this match, and most of e comments about e significance of e match were just about how both teams were e 2 teams with a real chance of 4th place. But yes, got a few quotes. "Once Torres gets into tt position, u know where it's ending up", "if tt had gone in, it would hv been, even by Gerrard's standards, a good goal", "Gerrard to Ryan Babel, that's a good ball.. and that's not a good ball" - Perry.

Implications/Expectations: 6 matches remaining and Liverpool are 5 points in front of Everton. And both teams have a similar set of 6 matches left. This fight for 4th place is surely not over yet, but this was a very very very very very important win, as it was against e competitors for 4th place themselves. And a derby win will surely boost Liverpool's confidence, which is so good because of the Champions' League quarter final coming up this week.

Champs League q-finals this week, can't wait. But argh, chem test this week too, can wait. But argh, match against HCI this week too, can't wait. But Kalai Vizha was a grand success haha.. thanks Aravind for e help too. This week, let's just wait la.

First Post of the Year - Randomness + Rant (which doesn't exist)

First post of the year... which is due to unfortunate circumstances, namely I can't get off my ass. I now declare myself the 2nd successor to the position of Cripple in class, a honour I would gladly give away...

Here's a list of random things to note.
1. I am dumb
2. Using the stairs the entire day to walk around for classes is smart.
3. Trying to do fencing footwork with a sprained ankle is... very intelligent.
4. After doing the above, running(crippled style) to catch 74 is simply genius.
5. Hobbling quickly up a 2-storey stairs and abt 500m to avoid the rain is.. (ran out of adjectives, find your own).
6. Lastly, I'm going to take the lift tmrw... feel free to escort me down.

Warning - Rant!

Aargh! Ow.. I suspect my term for the post of cripple shall be the longest yet. Since... the swelling doubled in size due to the above... secondly... my mom took a look and told me: "Never mind one lah, just put Zam-Bak on it, tommorow it will be fine." ... So fun... I want to pon tmrw.

Intro: I don't really need to tell u why I wanted to watch this match. This is e biggest rivalry in English Football and thus, Man Utd vs Liverpool matches are e biggest in England. Wouldn't have missed this match for anything. Even a class outing wouldn't have let me miss it.. oops that didn't help boost e class sirit right? But yes, this is a massive match. Oh and I wanted to really really see Rafa Benitez get his first win over Sir Alex Ferguson. And of course, see Fernando Torres own Man Utd. (And while typing this I'm also trying to watch e second match, and they showed William Gallas give a talk to his Arsenal teammates, and oh my goodness it was really motivating. ahh i love strong team talks.)
Tactics: Liverpool started again with a formation tt is slowly, possibly, becoming Rafa's permanent formation, a 4-4-2 with Steven Gerrard just behind Fernando Torres. Man Utd started with an interesting 4-3-2-1, a formation they don't always use but looks good. Man Utd had both Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo (tt guy on our blog) on e wings, while Liverpool had Alvaro Arbeloa and Fabio Aurelio to stop them, and if Ronaldo kept up his form, Aurelio was to have a looooooong match ahead. Man Utd had a midfield tt really had a great passing range, with Paul Scholes, Michael Carrick and Anderson, but Liverpool has Javier Mascherano to keep them down with e way he superbly reads e game. That was until Masherano got sent off, though.
My Man of the Match: Wayne Rooney (Man Utd). He missed a few good 1-on-1 chances but other than tt, he was good. Held e ball with him whenever he got it, let his teammates get into supporting positions, held off Jamie Carragher and Mascherano, passed to his teammates to set up chances, got into great great positions although he didn't make use of those positions to score. And he put e cross in for e 1st goal. And he didn't go mad with vulgarities too haha!
“What the..?”: Mascherano! u read e game so so well, but don't tell me u couldn't read e look on Steve Bennett's face? he had enough of u, and a red card was jus so.. inevitable. I must say, u let ur team down by wat u did, and Liverpool really needed a player like u in this match.
Commentator’s memorable quotes: e commentator was again Rob Hawthorne. He started by talking about how this was e EPL's biggest match and so on.. then came a few memorable quotes. "This is when e Man Utd fans get edgy, they think, yes it's Liverpool, we're 1-0 up, they're a man down, we're having all e possession, but we've only got 1 goal!", "If there's anyone to do it now, it's Gerrard", "Don't u know u were going too far with it? Don't u know about e climate in English football now with e whole debate about respect shown to Referees?", "And at Man Utd, if Nani scores here against Liverpool, he's in their folklore". - Hawthorne.
Implications/Expectations: Possibly e biggest impact this match would have on Liverpool is tt they have to play e very very very important match against Everton next weekend without Mascherano. Rafa, I expect, would really tell Mascherano about how he let Liverpool down. Ronaldo will be expected to jus get more and more goals this season (he scored 1 in this match btw). and e debate in England about respect for referees will continue.

VIDEO Comm...[come up with a storyboard and script for the video and figure out the actors, if more actors are needed u can always ask the class, and find time after or before school to videotape and edit, add music (maybe graduation or other emo song?!) and then show the class before burning the cd for sir] [also figure out the timeline if u wanna show the vid on wed during the party in class.....we need a cable from mdm han or smth and we can connect it to a laptop and screen the video while everyone enjoys the food?]

YEAH thats abt it...oh and the in charge ppl are random too so each comm has like someone to refer back to to find out what is going on in the individual comms. and if the in charge needs to talk to the class or stuff just use my announcement time in the morn k? yeah and erm hope we can get things going k? the in charge are also responsible for calling u guys up and getting things started so if the in charge is not doing his/her job, its the team's job to bug the in charge to get things going and as a class we can try to pull this off by wed hopefully!?

It's a Friday and the holidays are about to end):
Though I'm not really sure how I feel about that since it really means that the class will be together again soon which is nice and all. Heh. Just that the thought of deadlines kinda make me feel sick.

Anyways, regarding operation sendoff, I thought we were scratching the shirt idea and getting him a mug instead? Seeing that he doesn't seem like the type of person who wears tshirts. Though I personally think he seems like a coffee person but hey, who knows? Speak up people, so we can decide(:
Either ways, I know there's a personalize shirt making place at Jurong Entertainment Centre. Regarding personalized mugs, I'm not sure myself but, Carren might know seeing when our (her's and my) old math teacher left us, we got her a mug as well ^ ^
So depressing, she was a really good math teacher as well):
Maybe we should take a class photo soon, specially so that he has a picture to remember us by!
Come to think of it, aren't we going to be his one and only form class seeing that he only came in last year so he couldn't have had one last year? Wah, so must make his sendoff all the more special!

Regarding the book idea, is it something like an autograph book? Like everyone has to set up a page all by themselves dedicated to him? If it is, then we could always just get a plain book and decorate it. If anyone's feeling up to it, we could always go ask the other teachers for photos of him and stuff(: Though I think laoshi will be more than willing to help us.

Why don't we make it necessary to call instead? That way, at least we know the message is going through. And maybe we could let the class fill up the list themselves so that the lazy people will obviously fill up the don't-need-to-do-anything places while the more responsible people will fill up the ok-I'll-help-out-my-wonderful-kickass-awesome-class spaces? Yup yup?

Oh, and maybe we should have a class study group. Personally, I don't think study groups are all that effective but since most of us(I believe) usually don't study months before any tests or exams, maybe the study group would be helpful(: Besides, I believe that most of us are quite serious bout our studies so yeah! Would be effective, no?

ok ppl....this is a very impt post abt operation sendoff....i have been receiving many sms's regarding it....can everyone just try and discuss ideas here....i really dont think *the person regarding the operation* reads the blog....so could we like get smth going here....we could actually start with the book idea....ok for those lost here are the basic ideas (in short code) :

also i suggest we have like committes or smth? like divide the class into 3, then someone can overlook everything or smth....yeah then form there we work our way caz we have only 2 weeks left and to maximize manpower and time this seems to be the best way.....post back and lemmi know what u guys think....maybe then we can have out comms like ready by monday or smth....then the king can call a court order or smth and we can get the whole class together (hopefully?!) and just divide and conquer kinda thing..... haha

The reason for the title...as most of u might not have figured out correctly...is juz to make it sound gd...and cuz i needed smth to rhyme with responses. haha. so basically, this post is juz responses to other stuff tt's been posted...as well as some stuff on the cbox....and u noe why i'm actually postin...cuz somebody...told me i shud haf juz posted when i did long replies on the cbox...some-wuuf...haha but i guess it does make sense...izz still bad though...going against my principles...no no not our principal...my principles of laziness...i haven't actually clearly told anyone this, so lemme do it now...after much thought, i decided sometime ago tt i shall aspire to be....the lazy athlete...contradictory? yes. but that's where the fun is. i'll prove to them logic-minded dumbasses tt i, KING AKS, can actually be a lazy athlete...hah...and now...moving on to wat the stuff was supposed to say...(in chronological order, per se...)

firstly, i wud like to sincerely apologise...cuz in my previous post...the summary of my b'day...i 4got SERAPHINA....so so sry...i realised i 4got on the day itself la after i posted and all...but juz got lazy to post again...but still noted it down in my phone...she was there...a bit on the silent side as usual...if u're readin this, ur prescence was much appreciated sera...so sry i 4got to mention...like i said she was on the silent side la...not like the other kukus...but i do rmbr she said she'll come down to support us at softball coming wkend...and tt she went to buy the movie "history boys", which even though i haven't watched...i noe to be quite a coolio movie...me thinks so...mmhhmm...the funny part was when all of us were attempting to run across to somewhere from heeren without getting wet, and she din come along cuz she was goin home + she had umbrella...we were running runnning....when we finally reached somewhere, a bit wet and all, me & jonny looked up and saw her walking way ahead of us in the rain...at tt moment, was quite funny...

now i must go on to the next incident i 4got to mention. this was seriously damn funny. the bomb attack at mac's in bkt batok. ruth & jonny u noe wat i'm tokin abt...hahahaha....so basically there we were...me and the 2 i juz mentioned...in mac's trying to figure out math (hahaha...mac's math...) we were all leaning over our seats looking at the ppr trying to understand the stupid gibberish the teachers call coursework, when suddenly..."BOOOM!" damn damn damn loud. guess wat it was.....jonny kneed one of the balloons under the table a bit too much and it burst. hahahaha. it was incredibly funny cuz we all looked at each other half not knowing wat happened, and then started laughing and all. But our reactions weren't the funny part. The place had been pretty normal, and with tt BOOM everyone got damn damn startled tt for a sec it was pin-drop-silence, followed by synchronised mumours discussing how terrified they had all been. the stupid funny thing was wat jonny had said...

"imagine if some guy behind us had gotten scared & raised up his hands, like 'no no dun shoot me!'. hahaha "

ah...izz gettin late & my laptop's laggy...anyway...abt char's post...oi lousy mother...do u realise....ur phone camera sux la....the pix a tat bit blur...plus everyone looks a bit warped...at first...since most of the pix were ruth...i tot maybe izz juz her..cuz her front teeth looked damn off la..then came the other pix with more ppl...and they all looked off...so there u go...ur phone camera...not top-notch eh...

now for shadiq's post...thnx for all the 'praising' sort of....izz no prob juz doin my job 1st as ics personnel (hah i juz made it sound coolio), and 2ndly as KING. tt one must do innit. and yup the 3-0 was damn nice man. powning. yst's 0-1 to POOL against inter was awesome as well. Oh man...torres' goal...so effortless & smooth, juz magical. Never Walk Alone baby. WALK ON, as i always say. (btw 'baby' was in no referrence to shadiq. AH AH NO NO. juz like a shoutout.) and abt the roles thing....can i be like 'el salvador'? i juz think it sounds damn awesome. OR. i could be ZORRO. but then again i ain't the only one. so we shud all be salvadors. NO WAIT. I GOT IT. THE THREE MUSKETEERS. =D. there's actually more than 3, so we'll work out the number la. although...i still think el salvador sounds the coolest. damn snazzy la.

now for a few class matters...1st, char u needa fix the class relay so tt it has 100% efficiency. I will not haf any further lapses. My subjects pls co-operate fully so tt it works. so far, nsm, u the only one without hp for some reason. if u actually haf one, quikery(quickly) give char ur number. if not...dude...u're yr5, technically jc1 man, tell ur parents & get a hp, juz the top-up kind will also do innit. Or worse case, go get one of them pagers, if they still exist. then again, if sea monsters exists, why shudn't they? hahahahaha......

the village. No i ain't toking abt the horror movie. Our village. when shadiq first mentioned it i juz tot of some sort of game....kk no digressing...i now rmbr, and shall remind u ppl, izz a KINGDOM. i juz realised myself so nehmind u guys r 4given. lez not go into villages, not so high-class. kingdom snazzier. yo classmates! I know I said I won't post anyth except for MiMs, but I really felt like posting this one.
1. I wish I was at aks's birthday party class outing.. argh was instead playing hockey in e rain in jb haha. ohh and btw, some of u have asked "eh shadiq, how come u in hockey? i thought soccer is ur everything?".. it's a long story actually, why I'm in hockey.. lets jus say i joined hockey to keep my soccer dream alive. u see, soccer cca was started in acsi when we were sec 1, and.. haha long story la.
2. aks, seriously, thank u so much for helping with kalai vizha 2008, tt inter sch tamil competition tt i'm somehow overall coordinator of. u were awesome. some people, as u already know, from ur dance subcomm, were not awesome but u and navin totally made ur subcomm good.
3. aks, pool gave u a good birthday present, right? 3-0 man.. Michael Owen and Kevin Keegan finding out why they shouldn't have left LIVERPOOL.
4. aks, u now have 2 roles in our village. haha this stuff cannot be disclosed here. i'll tell u on msn. right johnny? haha..
5. nadine, u've got 2 roles in our village too. again, msn msn.
6. a div hockey trip was way worse than how we planned it.
- a few bad stuff:
- rain = cant train. 1 trng session cancelled..
- faulty powerpt in room = argh!
- those taxis absent on wednesday = our team stuck in hotel lobby for 3 hours before leaving for s'pore.
- one of e nights showed tt those, thoooooose problems have not been solved. cant say we didnt see that coming.
- long screws (screws!) poking out of e pavement = injured toes for 2 players when walking to/from trng.
- a few good stuff, though:
- mr Anderny, thank u so much for telling us tt we have THAT kind of team. seriously guys, its time we believe in ourselves. we are THAT GOOD. 2008 might be THAT year. as benedict chen will say, "come on guys!"
- benedict chen, haha it was so fun when we made One Republic's Stop and Stare our a div hockey theme song haha.. walking to/from trng singing tt at e top of our voices and getting curious looks from people was damn funny..
- e 2-hour team talk was really good. team bonding to e max. someone, though, had to make dumb comments and......
- e 2-hour talk helped us realise what we need to work on. communication, supporting, positional discipline.
- teammates, if u're reading this, (I know anthony tan and prasad might read this) we've got really good team chemistry, man.. lets do it lets do it. i will find it really painful if we don't achieve our target (as set by mr anderny) la. lets do it guys.
7. i have done zero homework, and after reading aks's post, i think i should start. argh..
